Christine Walter
Christine Walter is an education consultant. Her clients include the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust, the American Institute for Foreign Study and several individual schools as well as the EMI Music Sound Foundation, of which she became a Trustee in March 2005.
Christine was formerly Deputy Chief Executive of the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust where her responsibilities included all external relations functions and bidding support activities. She enjoyed helping schools achieve and retain specialist status, something she still does today.
Christine has had a varied career in the business and charitable sectors. She started out as a teacher in 1974, took a �temporary� break in 1976 and never went back! However, while working in other fields, she retained an interest in education and served as a school governor in 4 different schools and one 6th form college. As a councillor in the London Borough of Croydon, she was a member of the Education Committee.
Christine has a degree in politics and a life-long interest in current affairs, although she is no longer politically active. Her other interests include music, reading, golf and bridge. She is married to John and lives in Salisbury.
